ASB appoints John McMahon Managing Director of ASB Securities

ASB Group announces the appointment of John McMahon as the Managing Director of ASB Securities, effective Monday 30 April 2007.

John brings more than 13 years of experience in the investment industry to the role, having held senior positions at international organisations in both Australia and New Zealand.

Key roles have included two years as Head of Equities for ABN AMRO NZ Ltd, having previously been ABN AMRO's Head of Research for four years. He also spent more than two years in Sydney as Media Analyst for one of the world's largest securities firms, US-based Morgan Stanley.

Most recently John held an analyst position with boutique equity manager Walker Capital Management. He analysed a number of New Zealand equities and expanded coverage of Australian stocks across a broad range of sectors.

John holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons), an MBA, and is a CFA charterholder.
