BNZ Weekly Overview Mach 29

Welcome to the March 29 edition of the BNZ Weekly Overview.

Data released over the past week have shown a small decline in consumer confidence but with people overall expressing a level of optimism suggestive of firm spending growth going forward. The NZD traded briefly above US 72 cents two nights ago and has ended near 71.2 this evening while wholesale interest rates have changed by little ahead of the next official cash rate review on April 26.
