National Weanling Sale & Bloomsbury Stud Dispersal Sale Catalogue Out Now

The combined catalogue for New Zealand Bloodstock's National Weanling Sale and the Bloomsbury Stud NZ Dispersal Sale have gone in the post today and can now be viewed on the New Zealand Bloodstock website.

This year's National Weanling Sale features 250 quality young horses by 69 individual sires. And with recent Yearling Sale results boding well for pinhookers, this Sale is set to offer buyers a host of investment opportunities.

Amongst the stallions represented are nine whose progeny are making their southern hemisphere sale-ring debut: Fastnet Rock (AUS), Handsome Ransom (AUS), Hawkeye (IRE), High Chaparral (IRE), Johar (USA), King's Chapel (AUS), One Cool Cat (USA), Savabeel (AUS) and Scaredee Cat (NZ).

Sale highlights include half-relatives to Group 1 winners Art Success and Explosive Burst, recent Hong Kong Derby winner Vital King, plus current stakeswinners Kerry O'Reilly and Vercors.

Also featured are the progeny of stakeswinning mares such as Half Cut, Happy Features, Khopromise, La Sileen, Lingarton, Night Dancer, On Call, Orange Walk, Tartan Belle and Top Dance.

The Dispersal Sale of Henrietta, Duchess of Bedford's Bloomsbury Stud NZ will be conducted at Karaka the next day, on Monday 7 May. This Sale offers buyers a unique opportunity to acquire weanlings, broodmares and racehorses from the respected families of this world class breeding operation.

A total of 66 horses will be offered at the Dispersal Sale including 25 weanlings by Black Minnaloushe, Cape Cross, Captain Rio, Danasinga, Deputy Governor, Handsome Ransom, Hussonet, Indian Danehill, Ishiguru, King's Chapel, No Excuse Needed, One Cool Cat, Pentire, Pins, Soviet Flash, Thorn Park, Ustinov, Viking Ruler, Volksraad and Zabeel.

The broodmares on offer include Group 1 winners Honor Lap (Honor Grades) and Zola (Volksraad); four-year-old Zabeel mare, Zephyr, from the family of Grand Lodge; Centaine mares Centenary and Lady Harriet; Group 1 placed mare, Repetition, a sister to Snap; plus 11 mares from the family of Bloomsbury Stud's great mare, Mrs Moss.

An Open Day will be conducted on the farm in Matamata on Sunday 29 April from 12pm to 2:30pm.
