providing hosting services to launch Desktop TV, a new
initiativefrom Go Virtual Sport that will deliver
America’s Cup highlights from Valenciadirect to your
desktop as you take in your first flat white of
theday.
Kordia™’snew Server Storage Network (SSN) is core to the delivery of Desktop TV in NewZealand. From the first LouisVuitton Round Robin on 16 April, Kordia™’s SSN will act as a bridge between thecontent creation (race coverage) coming from America’s Cup Management inValencia, and distribution, via Desktop TV, to broadband users in NewZealand.
Thesolution builds on Kordia™’s‘TMT’* strategy devised to enable its customers inthe telecommunications and broadcast sectors to deliver convergedsolutions.
Kordia™’sCEO Geoff Hunt says that this type of customised network solution is anotherexample of the service capability afforded by Kordia™.
“Ourengineers developed the SSN with high-end, multi-media applications in mind forKordia™’s existing and potential clients, but they are always curious to deviseother solutions that work for our customers,”says Hunt. “For the America’s Cup, we are workingwith Go Virtual Sport to enable broadband for the end-user, but we also delivercustomised solutions to suit a wide variety of unique customer needs,”hesays.
Otherapplications of Kordia™’s SSN include hosting of services for virtual ISPs andsecure access to private networks connected to the Kordia™network.
