Top Nelson Franchise Expands With New Office

NEWS RELEASE
Top Nelson Real Estate Franchise Expands With New Office
For Release: 9 March 2007

One of Nelson’s most successful and long-standing real estate figures has just announced the purchase of a new office in Tahunanui, Nelson to complement his existing Nelson, Richmond and Takaka offices.

Paul Hedwig, Business Owner of Harcourts Nelson this week announced he had purchased the Go Gecko office in Tahunanui Drive and would shortly begin rebranding it to Harcourts. Mr Hedwig has owned and operated one of the most successful real estate businesses in Nelson for over 20 years and was one of Harcourts’ founding Business Owners when the company underwent franchising in 1991.

A dominant figure in Nelson real estate, Mr Hedwig has continued to grow his operation in line with the growth of the region. After moving his main office into larger premises in Hardy Street last year he said this second Nelson office was “an opportunity to be better represented in an area which offers everything from first homes, executive hillside residences, to holiday homes close to beaches.” He noted the Nelson property market was “solid across all sectors with ongoing buyer confidence, particularly for first homes.”

The new office will be managed by successful Harcourts Nelson Consultant, Steve Power who recently completed his AREINZ industry qualification through Massey University. With a focus on residential property, Mr Hedwig said he had already received initial enquiry from local consultants looking to join the new office which he expects will include around six consultants.

“Following licensing approval, we will be rebranding and opening the doors as the next step in our expansion plans to extend our services and grow our marketshare and presence even further.” Mr Hedwig’s businesses provide real estate services in residential, commercial, rural, lifestyle, developments, business broking, and auction. A multiple award winning operation, Mr Hedwig is currently a member of Harcourts’ Franchise Council, and last year was inducted into the Harcourts Hall of Fame.

CEO of Harcourts New Zealand, Bryan Thomson said, “The Nelson Franchise is the longest serving member of our group. Paul Hedwig has long set the standard when it comes to quality of performance and the award winning success of his long term sales team members. We are delighted to see this new office opening and are sure that the community within the area will respond with continued support of our brand.”
