Turners & Growers Forms New Export Company With Delica Group
New venture creates largest diversified produce exporting company in Australasia
Turners & Growers Ltd and Delica Group have formed a new specialist produce exporting company called Delica Ltd with Turners & Growers being the majority shareholder.
The new company will be the largest diversified produce exporter in Australasia exporting a wide range of produce from New Zealand, Australia and South America. It will operate out of existing offices in New Zealand and Australia and will be opening a new office in Lima (Peru) in May.
Jeff Wesley, Managing Director of Turners & Growers and Chairman of Delica Ltd says: “This move makes a lot of sense for us and a lot of sense for growers. By combining together the strengths of Turners & Growers and Delica we can concentrate on maximising grower returns while offering our international customers a complete range of high quality fresh produce from one company. Our wholly owned subsidiary ENZA will work closely with the new company to manage our expanding pipfruit exports into Asian markets.”
Snow Hardy will be the CEO of Delica Ltd. Mr Hardy says: “This new venture is great news for our growers. It combines the financial strength, infrastructure and experience of Turners & Growers with the marketing expertise of the Delica Group. It will help us punch above our weight in offshore markets.”
“This is a great start to the year for Turners & Growers and our shareholders on the back of the financial results we announced last week,” adds Mr Wesley.
