netPRess and Chong Newztel join forces

Wednesday. 8th March 2007 PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Online media research company netPRess and media monitoring agency Chong Newztel join forces

netPRess, New Zealand’s first online media research and business promotion tool, and Chong Newztel, New Zealand’s largest media monitoring agency, have joined forces to offer a comprehensive promotion and monitoring service to New Zealand’s business community.

Providing New Zealand’s media with a non-invasive, interactive media research tool and New Zealand’s business market with a centralised point to promote themselves directly to the media, netPRess can now offer its subscribers the opportunity to monitor their promotional success through Chong Newztel’s comprehensive media monitoring services. Chong Newztel, as well as offering a comprehensive press and broadcast monitoring service, can now offer its clients the opportunity of posting and recording their news and business details through netPRess’s non-invasive, online environment and tapping netPRess’s interactive media services, designed to help the media find contacts and story ideas, when they need them, and businesses promote themselves more effectively.

The partnership forms a complete media services package for New Zealand’s business market, says netPRess founder and director Vicki Wilson. “Joining forces with Chong Newztel is a natural progression for netPRess. Since launching our service less than six months ago, we’ve built up a database of more than 700 subscribers – ranging from well-respected PR and marketing consultancies and business groups to both large and small businesses and representatives from across the country’s media.

“Chong Newztel’s media monitoring services complement the other services we currently offer, and plan to offer, ensuring that when our subscribers post their news and details through netPRess they can monitor not just the hits on the site, but the coverage that results, with minimum effort.”

“It makes good business sense to combine the two organisations’ services and provide New Zealand’s business market with a complete media services package,” says Amie Han, Chong Newztel’s general manager. “netPRess and Chong Newztel have parallel core values and joining forces with netPRess completes the packages we can offer our clients. netPRess e-alerts, and forthcoming media alerts services, combined with our media monitoring capabilities, will also allow our clients to stay one step ahead of the market and their competitors, with little effort on their part.

“It’s a natural fit.”

NetPRess, launched in September 2006, is an online media research and business promotion tool, designed to help businesses promote their skills and achievements to and through the media, with minimum intrusion, and journalists find new contacts, story ideas and information on sectors or companies and check out the latest events with ease in their own time.

Founded by journalists for journalists, free to the media and backed by the likes of Microsoft and HP New Zealand, netPRess now has more than 700 subscribers, with more signing up every day. As well as offering subscribers the opportunity of posting their news and their details on a fully searchable database designed to help the media find information when they want it, netPRess also launched e-alerts, the first of several planned interactive services in January. E-alerts, enables subscribers to receive notification of press releases posted on netPRess as they happen, in whichever category they select. A further interactive service allowing media subscribers to tap netPRess’s unlimited subscriber database for information when they want it, is due to be launched within the next month.
