Major Imagery Sale for New Zealand

Leading spatial consultancy, Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) been selected as preferred supplier for a highly beneficial imagery solution over New Zealand.

Through its partners, Digitalglobe and New Zealand Aerial Mapping, SKM will provide for the next three to five years, sub metre satellite imagery over the entire New Zealand region for all Government Agencies including Departments, Territorial Authorities and Crown Companies.

The Region also takes in Antarctica and the Pacific Islands.

SKM’s Wellington-based Spatial Manager, Lindsay Mason said that this is a single “all of government” purchase that will reap significant benefits for New Zealand.

“We will be providing pan sharpened imagery, which is equivalent to aerial photography, and multi spectral imagery which is ideal to monitor and manage New Zealand’s environment,” Mr Mason said.

“This will be an awesome opportunity for all of New Zealand’s agencies to be using the same base to plan and monitor the environment, infrastructure and emergency responses,” he said.

Sinclair Knight Merz is a leading global firm employing more than 5500 people in offices across New Zealand, Australia, Asia, the Pacific Islands, South America, Europe and the Middle East.
