Toll NZ Win National HR Award
The Toll NZ Human Resources team have been awarded the 2006 HRINZ HR Initiative of the Year for their internal Recruitment Centre. The awards recognise the good work being done by HR teams who introduce innovation into HR Practices.
The entry focused on the Recruitment Centre, and bringing recruitment in-house, with the supporting services such as the electronic vacancy management and the advisory centre.
Toll NZ General Manager Human Resources Margaret Gracie says, "I am delighted that our HR team has been recognized at such a high level and want to acknowledge all the work our staff have put into making the recruitment centre the success that it is."
The judges noted how they were impressed with the entry as it showed the link between HR Strategy and the business and its culture. They also commended the fact that the services offered by the Centre are regularly reviewed and amended to ensure they meet the business's requirements.
After winning the regional award, Toll fought off competition from Wellington City Council and Canterbury University to take the top prize at the Workplace Gala Awards, held in Wellington.
