Sharper Pricing for Suzuki Grand Vitara
Sharper Pricing Makes Suzuki Grand Vitara Even More Competitive
The latest Generation 3 Suzuki Grand Vitara has become even more competitive with a realignment of pricing.
Price reductions averaging 4 per cent have been implemented across the range of seven Grand Vitara model variants in the New Zealand line-up.
In five-door 2.0-litre form with manual 5-speed transmission, the Grand Vitara now carries a recommended retail price of $29,990.
This compares to the previous price of $33,000, and is a reduction of $3,010 or 9.1 per cent.
“The highly competitive new price for a 2.0-litre, five-door, and four-wheel-drive includes all on-road costs and makes the Grand Vitara the most affordable genuine medium size off-roader available in New Zealand,” said Tom Peck, General Manager of Marketing for Suzuki New Zealand Ltd.
“Unlike its rivals, the Grand Vitara has a high/low gear ratio transmission and a full chassis integrated to the body. It does not rely on just the body panels for body strength,” he said.
A well equipped car, the 2-litre Grand Vitara includes as standard, aluminium alloy wheels, roof rails, climate control air conditioning, four-mode full time four wheel drive, anti-lock brakes with EBD and brake assist and engine immobiliser for security.
When specified with automatic transmission, the 2-litre petrol-powered model has a retail price of $32,500, down 5.8 per cent on the previous price of $34,500.
All other Grand Vitara variants also benefit from the revised pricing structure. The entry-level three-door, 1.6-litre model with full-time 4WD is now priced at $24,990, down from $25,500.
The 1.9-litre turbo diesel engined Eurodiesel models are priced at $32,990 for the three-door version and $36,990 for the five-door. This compares with the former retail prices of $34,000 and $37,500 respectively.
Flagship 2.7-litre fuel-injected V6 Grand Vitaras, fitted with automatic transmissions as standard, are now priced at $35,990 or $39,990 for the higher specification Ltd series with leather upholstery and larger diameter alloy wheels. Previous prices were $37,500 and $41,000 respectively.
The Grand Vitara has made solid sales gains in major markets like the United States and Europe, and in New Zealand sales last year doubled.
Such has been the demand for the new model than Suzuki has increased annual world production of the model to 180,000 – an increase of 44 per cent.
“Grand Vitara has earned a reputation as one of New Zealand’s favourite recreational vehicles,” said Tom Peck.
“The original version set the trend in the late eighties, and subsequent models have built on the success of the original.
“Grand Vitara has retained its unique off road capability and serious four-wheel-drive system. This is no soft-roader, but a tough vehicle that benefits from a versatile and highly effective all-wheel-drive transmission.”
All new Suzuki models sold in New Zealand include a comprehensive three-year, 100,000 km warranty and three-year roadside assistance plan at no extra cost.
