Record Month a ‘Triumph’ For Busy Harcourts Orewa

Record Month a ‘Triumph’ For Busy Harcourts Orewa

December provided a “triumphant” record breaker for one of Harcourts’ smaller offices based on the stunning Hibiscus Coast. With close to $10 million worth of property sales settled for the month, Harcourts Orewa Branch Manager, Sabine Davison confirmed they had beaten their old office record by over $2 million achieved back in July 2003 when the market was “incredibly hot”. She said despite market predictions to the contrary from various national commentators last year, Harcourts Orewa had continued to achieve consistently excellent results throughout 2006, culminating in the new record.

With a median price of around $435,000, Ms Davison said buying confidence was high across most price ranges with particularly strong demand for the $300,000-$500,000 range. “We also consistently have multi-offers on well presented and well marketed properties in the higher brackets with more buyers than properties abounding. While a lot of our buyers are local, we are seeing increasing numbers moving here from the North Shore and a steadily building number of enquiries from potential UK immigrants. They just love it here. There’s something about the coastal environment and being by the ocean.”

She added the office had undergone a renewed focus on market leadership in the past year and enjoyed increased repeat and referral business from their clients. Their record month had also seen them achieve Top National Harcourts Office Awards, and individual awards for Harcourts Orewa’s top sales consultant, Todd Cooper who had surpassed his personal bests three times during 2006. “This is a triumph for Orewa, and our team thanks to the faith our clients place in us”.

Looking ahead, Ms Davison said with their clients on the whole more resilient to issues like interest rates, they were looking forward to a “very good summer”. This includes further building the residential sales team and investigating opportunities to develop the lifestyle and commercial side of the business.

Harcourts Orewa has been owned for the last 16 years by Colin Hair, who is a well known industry and Hibiscus Coast figure and also owns the highly successful Harcourts Whangaparaoa office. Mr Hair said, “Harcourts’ philosophy of ‘People First’ and ‘Doing The Right Thing’ continues to reinforce Harcourts’ brand credibility on the Coast, and is one of the primary reasons why top industry performers Trevor Hyland (from Harcourts Whangaparaoa) and Todd Cooper continue to be in the Top 10 and Top 20 of Harcourts consultants nationwide. This is further underpinned by the Coast continuing to provide local homeowners with a consistently high rate of capital growth in New Zealand.”
