Exciting New Changes To The 27th Caanz Axis Awards
As the creative minds of the industry come together on June 1 in their quest to be recognised for excellence in communications creativity, they will see changes to the CAANZ AXIS Awards Show format.
The main change is the move from a sit down dinner and presentation to a theatre style awards show followed by the industry party of the year. This will allow for the AXIS winners to bask fully in the glory before an audience of their peers before celebrations begin at a themed after-party at the Town Hall.
Changes have also been made to categories for this year’s AXIS awards keeping in step with global award trends within the advertising industry.
There will no longer be special product or service categories. Instead, work will be submitted in a new set of categories e.g. Television - Single commercial less than 30 seconds, Magazine – Small space.
The Public Service and Charity advertising category also changes this year. While still remaining a unique category, it will now be incorporated within each medium.
Another change is that both the Direction and Copywriting categories will now be expanded. The Direction category will be divided into Direction in Visual Style and Direction in Comedy/Performance plus the introduction of a new category for International Direction.
Copywriting will now be judged on Copywriting for Print and Copywriting for Electronic.
It is also important to note that entries can now be submitted on BetaSP, MPEG2 or QuickTime.
The deadline for AXIS entries is 4pm, Thursday April 5. To find out how to enter and to view the call for entries book outlining all of the categories and changes to this year’s awards, please visit the CAANZ website – www.caanz.co.nz and follow the links.
