Mcdonald’s Launches Lighter Choices Combos

Mcdonald’s Launches Lighter Choices Combos

McDonald’s commitment to offering customers a wide range of offerings continues with the launch of new Lighter Choices combos.

Customers can now choose a Tandoori Chicken or Classic Chicken DeliChoices roll, with either a Banana Berry Smoothie or a fruit bag and water or orange juice.

The two combos are distinguished by the fact that the entire meal has less than nine grams of fat per average serve.

“We understand it’s important to provide New Zealanders with choice. The introduction of our Lighter Choices combos is our latest initiative as part of our journey of change,” says McDonald’s NZ Country Manager, Mark Hawthorne.

“It’s a very exciting and dynamic time at McDonald’s and there will be further initiatives as the year progresses.”

The announcement follows a number of recent initiatives by the company including the introduction of a vegetable cooking oil blend that is virtually trans fat free and lower in saturated fat.

McDonald’s also set another benchmark for the quick service industry with the introduction of nutrition labelling with %DI in October 2006. %DI represents the ideal daily intake of energy, protein, fat, saturated fat, carbohydrates, sugar and sodium for an average adult.

The new combos are available in McDonald’s restaurants nationwide from Monday 5 February.
