Pacific Blue Freight – Mike Pero Takes On Sales Role
Mike Pero and Pacific Blue Freight are both pleased to announce that Jet Express International Limited (JetEx) has been appointed General Sales Agent (GSA – Cargo) for Pacific Blue Freight. Mike Pero is the Managing Director and major shareholder of JetEx. The primary role of the company is to market Pacific Blue Freight and to sell available space in the Pacific Blue aircraft. The contract commenced at the beginning of January.
“The appointment was made by Pacific Blue Freight where they decided that Jetex with extra sales staff in Auckland and Christchurch can grow their freight business further. The biggest winners will be the exporters and importers of New Zealand. Pacific Blue have made fast and major inroads into the way people travel in this part of the world. Our mandate is to do the same with cargo, explains Pero. We would like to think outside the square and apply the same innovative thinking to the airfreight industry that we have in the mortgage industry.
Pacific Blue operate a network of Boeing 737 800s to and from New Zealand, Australia, Samoa, Tonga, Rarotonga, Vanuatu and Fiji and is extended further across Australia with connections on Virgin Blue and to the Pacific Islands on Polynesian Blue.
Freight is carried in the lower half (belly) of all Pacific Blue Boeing 737 aircraft. The capability is approximately 2000 kg depending on passenger loadings and sector.
In ensuring continuity of sales Michael Cameron has been retained in the capacity of sales and booking manager and will continue to be based in Christchurch and contactable on 0800 723 734.
This announcement coincides with Pacific Blue’s 3rd birthday and the brief visit of Sir Richard Branson to NZ.
