A limited supply of Royal Mail’s Beatles stamps will soon be available for sale online in New Zealand.

New Zealand Post has secured an initial supply of several hundred sets of Beatles stamp products following their release in Britain. Royal Mail predicts the stamps are going to be its biggest selling issue ever internationally.

The Royal Mail reports sales of the stamps so far have run hot around the world with particular interest in the United States, Canada and Japan.

New Zealand Post’s Stamps General Manager, Ivor Masters, predicts the stamps will be a big hit with Beatles fans here too.

“The Fab Four’s music still resonates around the world decades after they split so Beatles memorabilia is still extremely popular. As this is the first time Beatles stamps have been sold here we think they will prove to be just as popular as they are in England.”

In England the stamps, which include the covers of Abbey Road, Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Let it Be, have reportedly smashed the record setting Queen Elizabeth’s 80th birthday issue.

Mr Masters says supplies of the stamps are limited. “But we’ll assess demand and order more stamps from Royal Mail should we need to.”

The products can be ordered through www.nzpost.co.nz/stamps

Pricing as follows:
Mint Stamp Set $8.90
Miniature Sheet $3.40
Presentation Pack $13.70
Stamp Cards (11 in set) $8.80
