The Langham Opens Three New Meeting Rooms
(Auckland, 10 January 2007) --- The Langham Hotel Auckland is pleased to announce the opening of three new meeting rooms which will be available for use from 1 February 2007.
The addition of the new spaces is the result of unsurpassed demand over the last two years. Managing Director, Mr John Dick says: “We are thrilled by the support and have truly enjoyed working with the wide variety of events that have taken place in our function rooms. The additional three new rooms provides our clients with more options and is essential to keep pace with increasing demand.”
Following the tradition of the Langham’s other function rooms each of the new rooms have been given Maori names. Named after native trees the Nikau Room is 96 sqm and is able to host up to 60 people, the Matai Room is 56 sqm and is able to host up to 30 people, and the Kowhai Room is 48 sqm and able to host up to 25 people.
With the three additional rooms, the Langham now has 16 function rooms plus two ballrooms catering for any number of guests up to 600 banquet style or 900 theatre style.
New Look For Top New Zealand Ballroom
The
Langham Hotel Auckland’s eminent Rangitoto Ballroom has
been updated in line with the 2006 refurbishment of the
hotel.
The walls of the grand ballroom have been lined with sumptuous Italian La Scala Moon-Stone fabric and opulent Egyptian ornate gilded mirrors befitting the Langham’s international style.
Over the years the Rangitoto Ballroom has been enjoyed by greats including Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Colin Meads, Chinese President Hu Jintao, INXS, Olivia Newton-John, Prince Charles, Prince Edward, and authors Anthony Bordain, Jodi Picoult and Alexander McCall Smith.
The ballroom’s new interior was created by Auckland-based Raj Design which has extensive experience in luxury hotel refits and was also responsible for the hotel’s NZ$12m transformation last year.
