Shockace: the Next Generation of Online Trading
Shockace: the Next Generation of Online Trading Has Arrived
A YOUNG Auckland entrepreneur has designed a revolutionary way for people clear the way for all those new Christmas presents.
Households will undoubtedly be bursting at the seams again this year after the annual influx of festive gifts.
For many people it’s a case of ‘out with the old and in with new’ and now there’s a new way to make money from your unwanted goods and clear the decks for 2007.
Shockace
Providing you with your very own unique online shop!
Shockace derived from word “showcase”, is the brainchild of 24-year-old John Kim, from Unsworth, North Shore.
The Waikato University computer science graduate developed Shockace to offer people a sophisticated alternative to traditional car boot sales and online auction sites.
John said: “I have always wanted to get into business and in fact I came up with the name Shockace before I even knew what the business would be.”
“As a freelance web designer I was getting an increasing number of requests to build online shops for businesses as well as individuals – so I saw an opportunity.”
“Most people don’t want to risk thousands of dollars to start their own online shop but they still wanted to be able to own a regular customer base, reward them for being loyal (mileage system) and sell unlimited items straight away for a fixed price.”
“Shockace is a cost-effective way for people to do this and it means they can save on listing fees and other costs that comes with auctions.”
From the initial concept it took John six months to develop Shockace which provides a complete and unique solution for anyone wanting their own online shop.
Everyone who purchases a Shockace shop is entitled to a uniquely designed site to suit their product and their needs as well as ongoing support – not just another DIY template site.
There is also a user-friendly backend part to each site which allows people to easily upload as many items as they want, whenever they want at no additional cost.
This makes Shockace an ideal choice for small businesses as well as individuals.
“For small businesses, products can also be continually available for buyers without having to repeat the process of listing” explained John.
“Shockace also means you can give your clients a business card with your own website and your domain - it’s just so much more professional.”
“It really is a great solution for anyone starting out in business but so far, it has been way too expensive for individual to start one, not to mention the development time.”
“With Shockace, it only takes less than a week for your shop to be setup and then it’s all ready for you to start selling things.”
The innovative idea behind Shockace is already capturing the imagination of many individuals and businesses who are now successfully using Shockace shops to sell their goods.
And John, who also works as a web designer for Richmastery Ltd in Penrose, Auckland, is now looking for a great team to work together to take this idea into next level.
“The best bit is Shockace will also publicize your site – after I create a good client base with variety of shop owners I will list all the sites under Shockace home page to allow visitors to search and browse different shops, just like a huge shopping mall at no extra cost” he explained.
“I am also looking to flash up items such as newest shop and most recently updated shop.”
A professionally designed shop would set individuals and business owners back in the region of $3,000.
But as a Christmas special John is offering people the chance to clear the decks for all those new presents and start the New Year afresh with their own online Shockace shop for just $499.
