Motivational Speaker Wins Business Award

Motivational Speaker Named Business Person of the Year
International motivational speaker and executive coach John Shackleton was last night (5 December) named National Speakers’ Association Auckland “Business Person of the Year”.
National Speakers’ Association represents people who work as professional speakers, conference presenters and corporate trainers. The awards were presented by veteran speaker, broadcaster, author and honorary NSA member Gordon Dryden.
The “Business Person of the Year” award is aimed at Accredited Professional Speakers or Certified Professional Speakers and is judged on niche ideas or concepts introduced to business, regular speaking on the international circuit, creating new paths, mentoring, or acting as an ambassador for NSA.
John travels globally from his Drury base to speak on the importance of controlling attitude and confidence, while developing self-esteem and mental focus.
Mike Handcock took the NSA’s “Inspirational Speaker of the Year” award after receiving three nominations. Mike often speaks to audiences of thousands and has shared the platform with ‘Chicken Soup for the Soul’ author Mark Victor Hansen. He also presented at the first National Speakers Association meeting in China. As he was speaking in Bangalor he was unable to accept his award in person.
“Author of the Year” is Jasbindar Singh. Her book “Get Your Groove Back” has been translated into several languages. Through her company SQ Executive Management Consultancy Ltd, she speaks on business psychology, including executive coaching, resolving problems, building strong teams, career and life direction coaching.
Allison Mooney from Personality Plus was named “Most Entertaining and Humorous Speaker”. She presents on corporate and personal development and growing intelligent relationships and has been “Speaker of the Year” for the last three years.

• “MC of the Year” – Greg Stewart
• “Rookie of the Year” – Linda Shaw
• “Most Up and Coming Speaker” – Bill James
