You Gotta Know When To Hold ‘Em!
Last Friday, during drinks at SKY Television, John Fellet lost channel 36 in a hand of poker. Thane Kirby, owner-operator of ALT TV, who claims he ‘saw him coming’, trumped the television high roller. Kirby is said to be over the moon with the win, while Fellet can’t work out who invited Kirby to Friday drinks.
Fellet is honoring the deal and switching on channel 36 this Friday, December 1st.
Subsequently, there will be no more gambling at SKY’s Friday drinks and now SKY TV viewers will have a kick-ass new music channel on their wonderful platform in December.
ALT is an alternative music television channel playing an eclectic mix of music from rock to drum ‘n bass, specialty music shows and plenty of random bits to keep you interested. ALT comes custom-built with over 45 new faces, phone-in talk show, a short film show, extreme sports, a car show – all kiwi made and original.
ALT has been on-air for one year, loitering on UHF 62 in Auckland only. Over that time the brand has become stronger, grown an audience and some people even want to part with money to advertise on it.
Come on viewers join the party, ALT TV – channel 36 on SKY Television from December 1st, or until Fellet wants to win it back!
SKY Television CEO, John Fellet, says “I congratulate Thane Kirby on his vivid imagination, but can confidently state that SKY never conducts business transactions over a game of cards. I hate to undermine Thane Kirby’s ‘street cred’, but the aforementioned business transaction was actually conducted over a sedate cup of tea. No chocolate biscuits were provided.”
