New Chief Executive for NZ On Air
The NZ On Air Board today announced the appointment of Jane Wrightson as the new chief executive of NZ On Air.
Ms Wrightson has had a 25 year career in broadcasting and film in New Zealand. She is currently the Chief Executive of the Broadcasting Standards Authority, and her background includes four years as the Chief Executive of the Screen Production and Development Association (SPADA), three years as chief Film Censor, and ten years at Television New Zealand in various management roles. She also served for five years in NZ On Air as Television Manager and deputy Chief Executive.
NZ On Air Chairman Don Hunn said Ms Wrightson’s experience in public broadcasting and management, and in the wider screen sector in New Zealand, was exceptional.
Ms Wrightson will take up her new role in early February 2007. NZ On Air’s Acting Chief Executive, Bernard Duncan, will continue in his present role until then.
Mr Hunn and the Board of NZ On Air thanked Mr Duncan for leading NZ On Air during a difficult time.
