2006 Ford Henry Award Winners
Announced
AUCKLAND, New Zealand, 16 November 2006
The Henry Awards, the annual event where Ford recognizes excellence in motoring journalism from entries submitted by members of the New Zealand Motoring Writers Guild, were held last night in Auckland.
The awards event was established in New Zealand 17 years ago, and has become an integral part of the annual Motoring Guild calendar.
13 journalists submitted entries over seven different categories. All entries were then compiled and the two judges determined winners following a session of deliberation at Ford New Zealand.
Judges for the event were Perry Kerr (Chief Executive Officer of the Motor Industry Association) and Malcolm Teesdale.
Judges were asked to evaluate the entries to a specified set of criteria, which detailed that writing must be interesting and attention grabbing, informative, original and easy to understand – and without an overload of jargon.
"The current format for the Henry's has worked exceptionally well for a number of years, and we look forward to recognising the efforts of the motoring journalists through these awards for years to come," said Ford New Zealand Media Relations Manager, Clare Ponton.
