Tourism Australia appoints Creative
Functions as the event management company for G’Day NZ
Australia Week
Tourism Australia today awarded Creative Functions a multi-million dollar contract to run the G’Day NZ Australia Week for the next three years.
G’Day NZ Australia Week honours the spirit of mateship between the two countries and provides a platform to celebrate tourism, culture, business and history. The week-long event will run during the week of Anzac Day (25th April) each year.
More than 7,000 people directly participated in the inaugural G’Day NZ Australia Week programme of events in 2006. Tourism Australia anticipates that the 2007 series of events will build on this success.
G’Day NZ Australia Week 2007 will consist of lively events including, a Spirit of Mateship Gala Dinner, the Longest Australian Lunch in New Zealand, a Corporate Golf Challenge, an Australian Film Festival while the Retail Travel Conference, known as Oztalk, and Consumer Day will be added from 2008.
Tourism Australia’s Regional Manager New Zealand, Vito Anzelmi, said he is looking forward to working with Creative Functions.
“We’re delighted to be working with Creative Functions as they have proven experience to run the event and we’re confident that G’Day NZ Australia Week 2007 is going to be bigger and better than before,” says Anzelmi.
“The week is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate everything that Australia and New Zealand have in common, as well as recognising the things that make us unique.”
