Elton John – Visa Cardholders To Get First Tickets

2 November 2006 – Visa cardholders have the exclusive opportunity to purchase tickets to Elton John’s one and only New Zealand performance in Wellington on December 6, before the rest of the country.

Visa and partners Ticketek have secured pre-sale ticket access with Wellington Promoters Capital C: Concerts to Elton John’s first New Zealand concert in eight years, as part of the Visa Entertainment programme. Visa Entertainment provides Visa cardholders with VIP treatment including exclusive access to a variety of entertainment offers.

The two-hour show to promote his latest album ‘The Captain and the Kid’ has been described as a night of classic Elton John featuring all of his greatest hits.

Visa International New Zealand Country Manager Iain Jamieson says Visa is thrilled to be offering
New Zealand cardholders the exclusive opportunity to buy pre-sale tickets to world-class concerts such as The Rolling Stones, INXS and now Elton John.

“The response to Visa Entertainment has been fantastic. Tickets for the Rolling Stones tour of New Zealand sold extremely quickly and we are expecting Elton John tickets to sell just as quick. Visa cardholders are advised to log on to the Visa Entertainment website promptly at 9am to secure their tickets,” says Mr Jamieson.

Over the past fifty years Elton John has been renowned for his flamboyant stage shows, effortless melodic skills and chart topping hits.

He has sold more than 250 million records and has more than 50 Top 40 hits, making him one of the most successful musicians of all time.
