Wellington’s Marine Education Centre a Step Closer
The granting of the resource consent for the Marine Education Centre on Wellington’s south coast is good news according to the Wellington Regional Chamber of Commerce.
“The centre will bring substantial benefits to the Wellington region”, Chamber Chief Executive Charles Finny said today.
“A recent survey conducted by the Chamber showed that 90% of Wellington businesses supported the construction of the Marine Education Centre.
“The centre will bring increased tourism and employment opportunities as well as education benefits.
“The work we are doing to support the Wellington Regional Strategy shows that it is critical for our economic future that we grow the tourism sector substantially.
“Wellington needs more attractions like this and our lengthy coastline and marine traditions make it the ideal place for the Marine Education Centre,” Mr Finny concluded.
