MEDIA RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Singapore Airlines Takes On Board Phitek’s Leading Anr™ Headphones
Auckland, 18 October 2006 - Phitek Systems, New Zealand-based global leader in advanced audio technologies, today announced that Singapore Airlines (SIA) has chosen the company’s latest premium grade noise cancellation headphones for use across its entire fleet in both First and Business classes.
SIA’s adoption of Phitek’s ANR™ headphones will commence with the introductory flight of the airline’s latest B777-300ER aircraft in December.
Mark Donaldson, CEO of Phitek Systems says that the selection of its headphones, on top of a recent decision by SIA to adopt its popular SmartJack® technology, represents a significant endorsement of the company’s product line.
“We strongly believe that the combination of our integrated noise cancellation technology, SmartJack®, combined with our latest headphone offering, establishes a new and exciting benchmark for the delivery of noise free audio entertainment in the cabin environment. Without doubt, this fleet-wide deal with SIA is another strong confirmation of that,” says Donaldson.
Donaldson also says that the headphones used on SIA’s fleet will carry Phitek’s own brand and ANR™ trade marks.
Yap Kim Wah, Senior Vice President of Product and Services for SIA, says Phitek's headphone technology was selected on the basis of its high-fidelity performance and comfort.
“Introducing Phitek’s active noise cancellation technology in conjunction with the launch of the new Kris World in-flight entertainment system, we hope to offer our customers an immersive and enjoyable in-flight entertainment experience,” says Yap.
Yap also says that, “Phitek’s ANR™ technology provides effective noise cancellation that is suited for air travel and introducing this on our entire fleet enables us to deliver audio excellence to our customers.”
Donaldson says that the new SIA deal marks another important watershed for Phitek as the global leader in active noise cancellation technology.
“This major deal with SIA is a direct result of a proactive high-investment strategy in the aviation sector. Phitek’s strategy to extend its lead in the global aviation by supporting its successful SmartJack® integrated noise cancellation system with high performance complementary premium headphones is now paying dividends for the company, and its leadership position within the industry at large. “
“SIA’s adoption of Phitek’s patented SmartJack® integrated technology and premium noise cancellation headphones means that now more than 2.5 million passengers will experience the world beating performance of our active noise cancellation solutions each year.”
SIA will also employ Phitek’s advanced headphone testing software, Signal Space®, to manage headphone diagnostics and refresh.
