PDQ Broadband Plans - New Speeds at Reduced Cost
TelstraClear has launched new Maximum Speed PDQ broadband plans today. The majority of new plans will move to Maximum Speed and will cost less.
TelstraClear Head of Consumer Markets Steve Jackson says customers will be excited by the new speeds and true savings on the new PDQ plans.
“It’s one thing to introduce Maximum Speed - but with PDQ you also stay in control of the cost. PDQ’s new plans truly are fantastic broadband deals.”
“PDQ Turbo has changed download speeds from 3.5Mbps to Maximum Speed and is $4 cheaper per month, while our fastest plan, PDQ Max, has gone from 3.5Mbps download and 512kbps upload to Maximum Speed across the board for a huge $22 per month saving,” says Mr Jackson.
“To make our plans even better value for money and simpler, we’re simplifying our plans - with customers on the PDQ Accelerate plan migrated automatically to PDQ Turbo. Those customers will be getting Maximum Speed download for the same price. They’ll go from 2 Mbps download/128 kbps upload for $36 per month plus usage to Maximum Speed download/128 kbps upload for the same cost,” he says.
Mr Jackson says another feature of the new plans, and one dear to the hearts of all gamers, is interleaving.
“We’re now giving customers the option to take interleaving off on PDQ Turbo and PDQ Max plans - which decreases latency. This means faster response times for gamers. The additional ‘fractions of a second’ make a big difference for hard-core gamers.”
PDQ’s new plans are:
•
PDQ Launch - 256 kbps download/128 kbps upload - $24 per
month
• PDQ Turbo - Maximum Speed download/128
kbps upload - $36 per month
• PDQ Max - Maximum
Speed download/Maximum Speed upload - $44 per month.
PDQ customers need to buy a usage pack to go with the plans, with 1G usage packs for $2.95 per month, or for heavy users such as gamers, 10G packs for only $11.95 per month.
“Unlike any other broadband plan, PDQ allows customers to tailor their broadband speed and usage to meet their specific requirements. Unlike some other providers’ plans, with PDQ you can enjoy broadband without the worry of a big bill at the end of the month. There’s no throttle, and far less chance of bill shock,” says Mr Jackson.
Customers are sent regular email notifications, for monitoring usage throughout the billing month. Customers are also able to check their usage online at www.telstraclear.co.nz/usagemeter.
The new PDQ plans come into effect from 26 October. Existing PDQ customers have been sent a letter outlining plan changes.
TelstraClear customers in Wellington, Christchurch and Kapiti on InHome plans where TelstraClear has its own network, still receive New Zealand’s fastest broadband speeds. TelstraClear’s InHome broadband plans range in size from 1G, 5G, 10G and 20G, with LightSpeed 40G and 80G plans.
New customers can call 0508 888 800 or go to www.telstraclear.co.nz to sign up for the new PDQ plans.
