Outdoor living at its best with NZ House & Garden
Spring is here and to celebrate the anticipation of warm summer weather the November issue of NZ House & Garden presents a special feature on outdoor living and entertaining, with great solutions for turning outdoor areas into real living spaces.
"Gardens, balconies and other outdoor spaces offer a relaxed and casual approach to easy living, and are the best places to entertain in the warmer months. The latest issue has plenty of ideas and inspiration for creating a relaxing, yet stylish outdoor setting," says Michal McKay, Editorial Director.
"We often tend to think of décor for our interiors only - but the poolside, garden and balcony areas are perfect for creative paving, plants, water features and showcase lighting, to name but a few ideas!"
The magazine also includes stunning but easy ideas for entertaining alfresco - a pretty garden tea party complete with a floral theme, creative ideas for serving delicious drinks outside and a selection of canapés from top chef Peter Gordon.
For more reader inspiration, NZ House & Garden visits an American couple who have found paradise on Waiheke Island after searching the world over. Originally a bare paddock, the owners have created a masterpiece of sustainable architecture influenced by classic Mediterranean buildings.
Also in the November issue:
* NZ House & Garden visits a sweeping garden overlooking Lake Wakatipu recently named 'Landscape of the Year' by the Landscape Industries Association of New Zealand.
* Wellington architect Jim Beard talks readers through the creation of his many magnificent buildings and houses.
* The magazine tours through an award-winning Viaduct apartment, home to an American who loves "upbeat" Auckland.
* Renowned artist Gretchen Albrecht explains her unique painting style.
The new issue of NZ House & Garden magazine is on sale from Monday October 16 and retails for $8.95. Visit www.nzhouseandgarden.co.nz for inspiration and information 24/7.
