Acquisitions create a ‘Frenzi’ of activity

Triple acquisitions create a
‘Frenzi’ of activity

News release on behalf of
Frenzi Group Ltd

Three of Christchurch’s most successful bars and restaurants have been bought by Roy Thompson and Brian Collins, through their hospitality company - Frenzi Group Limited.

The iconic Sticky Fingers Restaurant and Bar in central Christchurch, and the Fox & Ferret Public Ale Houses in The Palms and Westfield malls, have been acquired for an undisclosed sum.

“We are very positive about the Christchurch hospitality market, driven as it is by a sociable and discerning population seeking quality dining and socialising options, and have been looking for the right opportunity here for several years. We are very excited to welcome such fantastic businesses as these into our group” says Queenstown-based Roy Thompson.

The three businesses will continue to operate in their existing successful styles under Frenzi’s ownership.

“Customers will see no change at all in the way Sticky Fingers and the Fox and Ferrets are operated – reflecting the high standards established by the previous owners,” says Brian Collins. “We are retaining the existing teams and management structures in all three businesses.

“Of course we believe there are benefits associated with being part of wider hospitality group not least of which will be the increased career development opportunities afforded to new and existing team members. Being part of Frenzi Group will help our new Christchurch team develop their skills and careers and indeed experience hospitality operations in different parts of New Zealand should they wish to do so,” Collins concluded.

Independently-owned Frenzi Group’s other bars and restaurants are:
Pog Mahones, Irish Pub and Bezu Restaurant & Bar in Queenstown
The Victorian Rose Pub in Nelson
Imbibe Bar & Restaurant in Mt Maunganui
Malt, The Paddington in Auckland; and
De Fontein, The Occidental, De Post and The Ponsonby, Belgian Beer Cafes in Auckland.
