Funding approved for investigation of Transmission Gully Motorway project
The Land Transport NZ Board has approved $9.2 million in funding for investigation of the Transmission Gully Motorway project.
The investigation funding will cover the costs of Transit New Zealand’s preliminary planning and environmental assessment, risk analysis, geotechnical investigation, transport modeling and other activities related to the project.
The funding will also allow Transit to finalise the scope of the project, refine cost estimates, investigate potential revenue sources and work with regional and territorial authorities to establish the size of any funding gap.
It is expected the initial investigation work will be completed by the end of 2007.
