Will a New Zealander finally grace Lucire’s next cover?

Auckland, October 12 (JY&A Media) The rumour that a New Zealander will finally grace Lucire’s next cover has finally circulated back to its head office in Wellington—and the answer from its publisher and editorial director, Jack Yan, is ‘Yes.’

Amber Peebles, of MTV’s Full Tank, was in New York for the MTV Video and Music Awards when Mr Yan asked if she could pose for a potential cover, to be photographed by John F. Cooper (www.johnfcooper.com).
Miss Peebles accepted, and turned up at Mr Cooper’s studios dressed in Zambesi that Friday.

‘This is one of the most stunning shoots we have seen of Amber,’ said Mr Yan. ‘For years, we have seen her in shoots that focus on her playfulness. John has shown off the sophistication that we always knew was there.’
If the shoot is chosen to be the cover, Miss Peebles will be the first New Zealand-born cover girl to grace the print retail editions of Lucire.

‘We chose to delay putting a Kiwi on the cover while we were going after our international markets,’ Mr Yan explained. ‘But this time, it looks as though we might be able to change that.’

Lucire Romania had been using local celebrities since Romanian model and personality Monica Gabor appeared on its cover in February 2006, a tack which Mr Yan was keen to follow.

Two other New Zealanders have made the cover on downloadable, printformat editions of Lucire in 2003 and 2004.

Other stories lined up for the next Lucire include profiles of Jock Robson, the winner of the Fashion Magazine Award at L’Oréal Colour Trophy in July, the history of New Zealand label Sabatini, and a full guide on summer fashion and beauty.
