If you go down to the woods today...

Little Oneroa Beach Reserve will play host to hundreds of teddy bears and their owners on Sunday, 29 October for the annual Waiheke Teddy Bears' Picnic Day.

The free event promises to be a special fun-filled day for the whole family with loads of music and activities.

Pack your picnic basket, sunscreen and hat, and bring your favourite bears to the reserve from 11am to 2pm.

Auckland City event organiser, Linda Deverell, encourages families to come along and celebrate the start of the summer with the Waiheke community.

"Once again we've got free activities on offer, from face-painting and storytelling to a bouncy castle.

"There will also be special appearances by Jiggles the Clown, Fairy Cher and Picnic Bear, as well as entertainment by young local musicians including Ben Kara, Kriston Batistich and the local school choirs," says Ms Deverell.

A free park 'n' ride shuttle service will be available from Old Blackpool School.

This event is funded by Auckland City and the Waiheke Community Board, and supported by Sealink, Fullers and the Cancer Society.
