Hyundai hits Wellington
October 1st marks a milestone in Wellington motoring history with longtime motor dealer Steven Dyke taking over the Hyundai franchise for the Wellington region.
With more than 30 years of experience in the motoring industry, Steven Dyke brings a high level of experience and knowledge with the franchise and looks forward to a partnership with the world’s fastest growing vehicle manufacturer.
“What appealed to us is the quality and variety of vehicles Hyundai offer,” he commented.
“There is an excellent range of engine options between diesel and petrol. Hyundai is very much an up-coming brand, and we wanted to be part of it.”
Steven Dyke Hyundai will cover the Wellington region, with an outlet on Cambridge Terrace in the central city and new premises in Hutt City due for completion early next year.
Steven continues a family tradition in the vehicle industry with his father Herbie having more than 50 years in the business throughout the North Island region.
Hyundai New Zealand Managing Director Philip Eustace said Steven Dyke’s ownership of the Wellington franchise underscores the importance Hyundai places on strong, established family dealerships in New Zealand.
“When you look at all our dealers they have very strong links to the industry and bring with them a great deal of enthusiasm and commitment which is playing a big part in keeping Hyundai at the leading edge of sales and service,” he said.
