Woosh Wireless takes Initiative of the Year
Woosh Wireless takes Initiative of the Year at TUANZ Awards for Wireless Phone & Broadband Bundle
Last night Woosh Wireless took the Initiative of the Year Award at the annual TUANZ (Telecommunications User Association of New Zealand) Innovation Awards, for their Plug-and-Play Broadband and Phone bundle, which launched in September 2005.
Each year the TUANZ Innovation Awards recognise and reward New Zealand innovation in telecommunications.
With the Woosh Broadband and Phone service, a user can plug in to receive a wireless broadband service, and a phone line, without the requirement for a landline, and from around the same cost as they currently pay for just a Telecom line. A customer survey revealed that most Woosh customers self-install their Woosh Broadband and Phone service within 10 minutes of opening the box.
The Woosh wireless network is not only a New Zealand first, but also a world first deployment of wireless broadband and voice technology.
The Woosh bundled service is already available in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Southland.
Kevin Wiley, Woosh COO, says that the Woosh phone offers consumers within wireless coverage areas a real choice of telecommunications provider, and this innovation guarantees Woosh’s place as an innovative telecommunications service provider in New Zealand.
