Santa Fe is NBR SUV of the Year

Yet another accolade for the stunning Hyundai Santa Fe 4WD.

The newcomer has been named SUV of the Year in the current issue of the National Business Review.

“The best prospect in this niche we have seen emerge this year,” comments the respected weekly publication.

“In our view it offers the best value for money in a medium-sized four-wheel-drive.”

The National Business Review is noted as a trend setter for its raft of Car of the Year awards it gives out each year. Last year it chose the then-new Hyundai Sonata as its overall Car of the Year. Sonata has gone on from there to harvest a multitude of awards all over the world. Several years ago it was the same case with the multi-award winning Hyundai Getz, which won the NBR Small Car of the Year.

“For the new Santa Fe to be singled out in a very tough SUV market speaks volumes for the vehicle. It is also a key reason why Hyundai SUV’s are experiencing such great success in the New Zealand new car market, selling the third highest number of SUV’s so far this year” commented Hyundai Automotive Managing Director Philip Eustace.

“This is a four-wheel-drive we are delighted to bring to the families of New Zealand: spacious, economical and bristling with safety features.

“The only problem is, we can‘t get enough of them and right now there are waiting lists for some models.”

Santa Fe is offered in petrol and diesel variants, as a five or seven-seater, priced from $45,490.

The vehicle has quickly found its way into Kiwi hearts with the Santa Fe TV commercial, which showed toddlers going surfing, rating twice as popular as any other television commercial launched this year in a recent AdMedia survey, undertaken by TNS NZ.
