Contact energy prices - correction to Dominion Post story
A story in this morning's Dominion Post about an increase in electricity and gas prices implies there is a nationwide electricity price increase. This is not correct.
The Dominion Post story has been widely reported, creating understandable confusion among news media and Contact customers.
"From 1 October there are electricity tariff increases for customers in Wellington, North Canterbury and West Auckland and the North Shore. There is no nationwide electricity price increase. "
Contact's gas prices are also increasing from 1 October.
"Contact sets its electricity tariffs on a regional basis throughout the year. There is no single electricity price increase across Contact's total customer base."
