Meridian to sell land south of Waitaki River
Meridian Energy is to appoint sale agents to market some of the properties it owns on the south bank of the Lower Waitaki River. The name of the agents will be advised publicly when the selection process is completed early next month.
The properties of varying sizes totalling approximately 1000 hectares are currently occupied under a variety of arrangements including a small number with a first right of refusal for current occupiers or previous owners.
Land Manager Sam Cottier said the land was being sold as part of the completion of Project Aqua work streams as Meridian was now proceeding with its water-only consents for a North Bank Tunnel Concept.
"These are attractive properties and Meridian is keen to test the market. Properties will only be disposed of on a fully commercial basis, and could be sold individually or as a total package to yield best value," he said.
