Attached is a ranking of the top New Zealand websites for the week ending 27 August 2006, from Nielsen//NetRatings' Market Intelligence service for the Employment category.
The Career Services website, careers.govt.nz, was launched by the New Zealand government with a vision to, "maximise New Zealand's potential through quality work in life decisions". The site's focus is to provide easy access to quality, impartial career advice and guidance. "With strong levels of economic growth, and low levels of unemployment, the government has sent a clear message that lifting New Zealand's level of productivity is crucial to maintaining this momentum," according to the site's 2006-2011 strategic plan. Finding jobs online is a growing trend with Trade Me Jobs (trademe.co.nz\trade-me-jobs) recently launching into the online employment market, immediately gaining a high profile and challenging perennial category leader Seek. Trade Me Jobs received 178,526 unique visitors in the first 6 days of its launch. The top employment site according to Nielsen//NetRatings' Market Intelligence data last week was seek.co.nz, with 91,675 unique visitors. The average session duration of visitors to the employment category last week was 6 min 37 sec, while visitors to seek.co.nz stayed on the site for an average of 7 min 6 sec.
