Tickle takes digital photo solution online
If you've got more photos hiding on your computer than printed in albums or frames, take comfort that you are not alone. Where previously you simply had to drop off a film at the local chemist, digital camera owners now face the common dilemma of how to deal with mushrooming pile of photos clogging their hard drive because of the hassle of getting them printed.
A solution gaining huge momentum in the United States is ordering over the internet. A relatively new concept in New Zealand, online photo services typically offer cheaper print pricing and more sophisticated photo products than are available through traditional photo shops.
Combine this with the convenience of not having to leave home to order or pick up your photos and it's easy to see why online photo services have become popular with a new generation of digital photographers.
Local online photo service tickle (www.tickle.co.nz), has just launched a new version of their popular website with a heavily discounted price on digital prints.
The timing is good with adoption rates for broadband and digital cameras both growing at record levels. Print prices have dropped significantly over the past year through aggressive competition and tickle now leads the market with a special print price of 25 cents for 6x4 prints until August 21.
Aaron Ward, tickle managing director and co-founder says "A photo's job is to make us smile. But it can't do this if it's couped up on a computer. We're proud to have the lowest print prices in the country and a range of creative photo products that help you make the most of your photos."
Along with prints, tickle offers personalised coffee mugs, jigsaw puzzles, calendars, canvas prints, greeting cards and photo books which allow customers to create gifts featuring their own photos.
Tickle also allows customers to store an unlimited number of photos in their own private account at no charge and provides a simple solution for photo sharing by giving users their own personal gallery that friends and family can visit to view selected shots.
"We were first in the market to launch a host of unique photo products including customised photo books and will soon announce a number of new product innovations that will extend our position as New Zealand's most creative photo business," says Ward.
