Big Wednesday First Division Struck For Second Week In A Row
A lucky Big Wednesday player who bought their ticket at Plaza Supervalue in Invercargill has won $2 million plus a Range Rover and a Porsche in Big Wednesday First Division, NZ Lotteries Chief Executive Todd McLeay said.
"That's two in a row for Big Wednesday, proving it is a game that can be won at any stage in its jackpotting cycle.
"It is also fantastic to see Big Wednesday won from one end of the country to another, last week it was won in Northland and this week Southland has struck the big one," says Mr McLeay.
Last week two stunned Big Wednesday players who bought their tickets in Kaikohe and Palmerston North found out they were each $1.3 million richer, when they shared the First Division prize pool.
Just three weeks ago, Big Wednesday was also struck by a lucky Auckland ticket holder who won $6.2 million in cash and luxury prizes.
Mr McLeay's advice for this week's Big Wednesday winner is to write their name and address on their ticket, confirming their ownership.
"They should then contact NZ Lotteries Wellington office on (04) 802 7000, and we can provide advice about the next steps to take," he said.
Big Wednesday was first won back in February 2006 by a ticket sold in Thames. The lucky ticket holder picked up $13.1 million in cash and luxury prizes. Since that win there have been a total of seven First Division Big Wednesday winners (including tonight's winner).
A ticket sold at Ezi Park Four Square Hamilton won Big Wednesday's second chance draw, open to all tickets bought for tonight's draw. The ticket holder has won $25,000.
The winning serial number is 338-04515588-13XX.
"Anyone who bought their ticket from Plaza Supervalue in Invercargill should check it immediately," Mr McLeay says.
