Best Of Nation Wine Award
A unique award at the 2006 San Francisco International Wine Competition has boosted Kim Crawford Wines with recognition for the winemaker's full range of exported wines.
The 2006 title for “Best of Nation- New Zealand” award recognises Kim Crawford's overall portfolio of wines distributed in the US.
On receiving the award for the best overall producer from New Zealand for the fourth time since 2001 Kim Crawford said "We are thrilled to get recognition for our whole portfolio, it is exciting for us and for all Kiwi wine exporters to see that wines such as Unoaked Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Marlborough Pinot Noir and even my favourite wine, Riesling getting profile with awards like this. New Zealand has enjoyed global success with Sauvignon Blanc and finally we're seeing the quality of wines across the portfolio gaining equally well deserved recognition."
Co-founder Erica Crawford said "Commercially, it's exciting. These wines are great value wines, selling in NZ for under $20 and in the US for US$16 and all with wide availability. This is the largest and most prestigious competition in America benchmarking our wines against over 3,000 entries from around the world and winning accolades in the San Francisco International Wine Competition is very significant for a small producer like us.
Acknowledgement of our entire portfolio is a very welcome endorsement of our work, of the skills of our growers and a particularly credible commendation to present to buyers of our range in any market worldwide.”
Kim Crawford Wines are internationally recognised for producing a portfolio of the very best wines from premium winegrowing regions across New Zealand.
