Explore the South Pacific this summer with Fly/Cruise deals


New Zealanders will be able to enjoy the unspoilt treasures of the South Pacific and Queensland this summer with the release of P&O Cruises’ Fly/Cruise packages from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

The fly cruise offer is available on selected departures between October 2006 and March 2007 onboard Pacific Star from Brisbane and Pacific Sun from Sydney. A huge 15 cruises over the summer months are available to choose from.

The packages, start at NZ$1,728* for a seven night Queensland cruise onboard Pacific Star from Brisbane. Cruises from Sydney onboard Pacific Sun start from just NZ$1,837* for an eight night cruise to New Caledonia and the Loyalty Islands.

Included in the package fare are return flights, transfers from the airport to ship, cruise accommodation and all main meals, entertainment and activities once onboard.

P&O Cruises New Zealand Manager Shannon Currie says the Fly/Cruise packages make it even more affordable for New Zealanders to explore the South Pacific and Queensland.

“Kiwis travelling on these deals save considerably on airfares, and when you consider that all P&O Cruises fares include main meals and entertainment, these cruises make travelling the south Pacific Islands or Queensland amazing value and so easy”.

Pacific Star’s summer itineraries take in ports in New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Loyalty Islands and Tropical Queensland, with her first cruise departing 25 November 2006.

Meanwhile, Pacific Sun will travel to ports in Fiji, Vanuatu, the Loyalty Islands and New Caledonia, departing for her first cruise 15 October 2006.

The 35,000-tonne Pacific Star, currently cruising from Auckland, has four dining venues, three swimming pools, open air spas, spacious decks and a choice of queen or twin bed configurations in most cabins.

Pacific Star also provides its 1,350 passengers with a huge range of entertainment and on-board facilities including six bars and lounges, a nightclub, a jogging track, Hair and Beauty Salon, library, duty-free shops, a show-lounge, a casino and three kids’ and teens clubs.

Pacific Sun features three restaurants, a health club, 10 bars and lounges, a theatre, two pools, a water slide, a casino, library, internet café and a children's club.
