NZHC to lose CEO

NZHC to lose CEO

New Zealand Hotel Council is looking for a new Chief Executive.

NZHC Chairman, Steve Kirkpatrick, says that after almost four years in the role Jennie Langley has decided it’s time to move on.

“When Jennie started as CEO of Major Accommodation Providers, subsequently renamed New Zealand Hotel Council (NZHC), few believed we would succeed in creating such a professional, stand-alone, united organisation representing large hotels. We’ve certainly achieved that and much more.”

He says that since Ms Langley has been at the helm NZHC has more than doubled its membership, established the only database of operational information specific to large hotels, cemented a strong regional network with regular monthly meetings and gained a respected voice with other industry organisations.

“Her contribution has been very significant and NZHC is well positioned to move to another level of activity. We certainly don’t want to lose the momentum she has created or reduce our close contact with industry partners.”

Ms Langley says her decision to leave a job that has been ‘the best ever’ was not an easy one but believes it is time for someone else to add a new perspective. She will not be lost to the industry however as she will be taking up a position at the end of August as Chief Executive of the Museum Hotel in Wellington.
