Microsoft NZ Appoints Helen Robinson As Managing Director
Ross Peat to hand over role after four years as Managing Director
AUCKLAND, New Zealand – Wednesday, 31 May 2006 – Microsoft New Zealand’s Managing Director Ross Peat today announced that he will hand over his role after a successful four years. To succeed Peat, Microsoft New Zealand has appointed Small-Mid-Sized Businesses and Partners Director Helen Robinson as the company’s new Managing Director. This appointment will take effect from 1 July, 2006.
“Microsoft New Zealand is in good hands,” said Peat. “Helen brings substantial sales and marketing insight, experience and personal commitment to further grow our New Zealand operation. Her in-depth understanding of the local industry and of managing a business put her in good stead for the road ahead.”
With more than 20 years in technology, Robinson joined Microsoft New Zealand as Director for Small-Mid-Sized Businesses and Partners in 2005, after serving as Pivotal Corporation’s Vice President for Australia and New Zealand. Robinson is a proven business leader with the expertise to drive effectiveness, efficiency and success. She will report to Steve Vamos, Vice President for Australia and New Zealand.
During Peat’s leadership of Microsoft New Zealand the business has expanded significantly year over year in an ever-evolving industry. At the same time he has continued to strengthen Microsoft New Zealand’s industry and government partnerships. Peat originally joined the company in 1992 and became sales and marketing director before assuming the role as General Manager in 2002. Peat plans to take time out with his family, pursue a number of recreational passions, and invest time in a number of personal business projects and opportunities.
“I have a strong passion for ensuring customers recognise the value of their current and future technology investments”, said Robinson. “I am looking forward to leading a team that helps New Zealanders realise the potential IT and software can offer.”
