Tourism Auckland Introduces Online Booking Service
Tourism Auckland partners with ZUJI for new online booking service
Tourism Auckland has introduced a leading online booking service to its website, www.aucklandnz.com, allowing users to make bookings and receive instant confirmation for a wide range of travel requirements in Auckland, New Zealand and worldwide.
The booking facility is powered by online travel company ZUJI, and allows consumers to make real-time online bookings for a range of domestic and international flights, rental vehicles, accommodation, activities and travel insurance worldwide.
Tourism Auckland will also be using the booking service at its six i-SITE information centres and will be one of the first in the country to utilize the online service for customer reservations.
ZUJI is a leading travel agency site in New Zealand and is managed under license as a division of the Gullivers Travel Group, an NZX listed company and the largest travel group in the country.
Tourism Auckland chief executive Graeme Osborne says online promotion is pivotal in marketing destination Auckland both nationally and internationally.
“In the current highly competitive tourism market, it is vital to meet the needs of travellers who rely on the internet for information and bookings.
“The new real-time booking service is part of Tourism Auckland’s ongoing strategy to provide a robust online service to visitors. We decided to partner with ZUJI because of its expansive local and global travel content and its ease of use for visitors to our site,” Mr Osborne says.
ZUJI New Zealand general manager David Allen says the online partnership has opened up excellent local content marketing and selling opportunities for both parties, using world class technology. ZUJI has global access to more than 400 airlines, 60,000 hotels, 50 car rental companies as well as many attractions.
Along with the booking service, Tourism Auckland has also recently launched new Waiheke Island and Great Barrier Island websites, www.waihekenz.com and www.greatbarriernz.com
