The Breeze Confirms On-Air Line Up
RadioWorks new Auckland channel, The Breeze, 93.4, has confirmed its on-air presenter line-up for the June 12, 2006 launch.
The station’s programming team will be led
by award-winning broadcasters, Robert Scott and Robert
Rakete, who will host The Breeze weekday breakfast show.
TV3 journalist and presenter, Jeanette Thomas, will read
the breakfast news bulletins.
Jana Rangooni, Group Programme Director for RadioWorks, says the breakfast line-up will bring a wealth of broadcasting experience to the station.
“We're really delighted to be teaming up these two seasoned Auckland radio talents. While they are both great personal friends, who have been keen to work together for some time, they have very different personalties which will make for an interesting and highly entertaining show.
Breakfast host, Robert Rakete, says the opportunity to work for The Breeze was too good to turn down.
“What really excited me the most about working for The Breeze was the chance to work with Robert Scott, not only is he a radio genius – and the awards on his office wall are testament to that, but he’s one of my dearest friends. It’s a fantastic opportunity to make some great radio and have a lot of fun in the process.”
Award-winning broadcaster, Kerry Smith, will host The Breeze 10am – 2pm weekday show. Smith has an impressive resume of top radio jobs in this country, including stints with Radio I and Radio Live, and will bring immeasurable knowledge and experience to the role.
Jana Rangooni comments: “We’re very proud that Kerry is joining the station. She has an amazing history with New Zealand radio and it’s a huge coup for us to have her, as she’s always been top of our list for this slot.”
Successful television and radio personality, Mark Leishman, will present The Breeze 2pm – 7pm weekday drive show.
“We’re excited to have Mark on board, he was always part of our dream team, we are lucky to have a broadcaster of his calibre on board,” says Ms Rangooni.
