Criterion Introduces Latest ‘Synergy’ Plasma Stand to Australasia
Auckland, 24 May: New Zealand’s furniture leader, Criterion Group, has introduced two new models of its innovative plasma TV stand to the Australian and New Zealand market.
‘Synergy’ 1200 and 1500 are the latest additions to Criterion’s increasingly popular plasma stand range, which are especially designed to accommodate large flat screen TV’s and additional home entertainment equipment.
Stylish and practical, the stands have a full back panel and cable ports to keep unsightly wires out of view and contain storage for remotes, tapes and DVD’s. Incorporating a toughened black glass top and shelf and finished in black lacquer, Synergy’s elegant form complements the latest flat panel televisions and modern interiors.
The introduction of the Synergy 1200 and 1500 models follows Criterion’s recent success offshore with the sale of 10,000 plasma stands to BestBuy in the USA – America’s largest electronic retailer with 800 stores throughout the US and Canada.
The New Zealand market leader in the production of a range of plasma stands for the local and offshore market, Criterion is recognised as the leader in the design and innovation in this market.
Criterion has been quick to identify the potential growth both at home and abroad for the plasma stand as demand for the product has taken off worldwide to match the trend for bigger plasma TV screens. According to Criterion New Zealand Marketing Manager, Tom Macky, Criterion “will continue to monitor TV trends as the obvious demand for better and bigger flat panel TV’s continues and television technology proceeds to develop,” he says.
It is estimated that large LCD and plasma TV sales will have increased by over 500% worldwide from 2003 to 2005. Recent New Zealand sales figures also demonstrate a significant increase with the number of units sold tripling between like periods in 2004 and 2005 and early signs in 2006 show that this rapid growth is set to continue.
The unique range of manufacturing capabilities within their East Tamaki facility, enable Criterion to come up with leading designs ahead of their global competition.
The ‘Synergy’ stands retail in New Zealand for $749 (1200) and $899 (1500) and are available through leading electronic retailers in NZ.
