Sharp still NZ's favourite microwave for second year running
Sharp microwave ovens have again been confirmed as the brand most New Zealanders prefer to cook, defrost and reheat with.
For 2005 - and for the second year in a row - Sharp Corporation of New Zealand Ltd has won the prestigious GfK Asia No.1 Award for the most microwaves sold in New Zealand.
GfK Asia Awards for the No.1 Brands are presented to the top selling brand, according to GfK retail audit data, in each category. They are based on unit sales for the calendar year January to December.
Managing Director for Sharp in New Zealand, Jan Nicol says the award confirms Sharp's position as the microwave oven of choice for New Zealanders.
"Sharp's combination of ease of use, practical features, competitive pricing and stylish good looks means our microwaves are perfectly suited to modern Kiwis' lifestyles."
However, as Jan Nicol is quick to point out, Sharp is not content to just keep on picking up No.1 Awards.
"As one of the most innovative companies in the world, Sharp is already focused on the next generation of cooking appliances," she says.
"Later this year, we will be releasing a totally new cooking technology: the incredibly efficient, health conscious and revolutionary Superheated Steam Oven.
"Capable of cooking a wide variety of different foods all at once - and in a fraction of the time required in a conventional oven - the Sharp Superheated Steam Oven has the potential to revolutionise the way we can prepare and cook meals."
