Product Recall Notice: Tegel Zoo Animal Chicken Nuggets
Tegel Foods Limited has announced it is voluntarily recalling certain batches of its Zoo Animal Chicken Nuggets, in one kilogram bags, with the batch code 16073 AM and 16073 PM.
This recall does NOT affect any other Tegel nugget products, and is limited to grocery retailers in Auckland and Northland only.
Tegel says it is recalling the batches of Zoo Animal chicken nuggets as a precautionary measure following a small number of reports of tiny fragments of metal being found in the product.
“Anyone who has bought a 1 kg bag of Tegel Zoo Animal chicken nuggets with the batch codes 16073 AM and 16073 PM should return it to the store they bought it from for a full refund”, says David Morrison, Tegel spokesman.
“We are continuing to investigate the precise cause of this incident, and whilst doing this we believe in the interests of customer satisfaction it is best to recall the product immediately.
“We apologise to our customers for this problem, and for the inconvenience of the recall, and thank them for their co-operation.”
Consumers can find the batch numbers on the back of the chicken nuggets packet. Those who have purchased the affected product should return it to the original place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers who have any queries about the recall are invited to call 0800 244 253.
