TRENZ 2007 goes to Rotorua for first
time

The New Zealand tourism industry’s biggest annual event will be held in Rotorua for the first time in 2007.
TRENZ 2007 will be held at Rotorua’s brand new Energy Events Centre from 21-24 May 2007.
“We are excited to be taking TRENZ 2007 to a city that consistently rates among New Zealand’s most popular visitor destinations,” Tourism Industry Association Chief Executive Fiona Luhrs says. “Rotorua has a long and proud history in the New Zealand tourism industry and this event will be an ideal way to showcase the area to hundreds of international tourism and travel buyers.”
TRENZ brings together approximately 400 New Zealand tourism businesses and a similar number of international buyers for four days of totally focused business to business activity. It is an important forum for the New Zealand industry to showcase product, forge relationships with international buyers and write business for the seasons ahead. About 60 international and New Zealand media also attend the event.
TRENZ has previously been held in Auckland or Christchurch because of the lack of venues elsewhere able to cater for the unique demands of New Zealand’s most significant international tourism business event.
But Rotorua’s new Energy Events Centre, due to open early next year, will provide enough capacity. Rotorua also offers excellent accommodation options as well as good air and road transport links.
