Equestrian Centre Changes Hands
Tielcey Park Equestrian Centre in Aokautere, near Palmerston North, has been bought by Clarity Group Ltd. The purchase
ends months of speculation in the equestrian community as to whether the facility would be available to the equestrian
community, or would be redeveloped for other purposes. Clarity Group's Managing Director, Margo Aasen, confirmed that
Tielcey Park will continue to be used as an Equestrian and Events Centre.
"We're thrilled to have secured Tielcey Park," says Margo. "The facilities are fabulous and we intend to continue the
excellent work Richard and Ali Napier have started." In addition to increasing the number and variety of shows held at
Tielcey Park, Margo added the plan is also to host both New Zealand and international instructors for clinics and
demonstrations for all equestrian disciplines.
"When I rode in America my friends horses almost never left their barns - farriers, therapists, dentists, clinics and
shows came to them - and a fabulous atmosphere existed with everyone supporting the 'barn' team on weekends. This
supportive and professional environment will ensure that keeping your horse at Tielcey Park is a joy."
Margo was raised in Palmerston North and completed all her schooling in the city, including gaining her BBS in Marketing
at Massey University. Most recently a professional project manager and trainer, Margo is looking forward to returning
home and managing Tielcey Park. "My love of horses was born in the Manawatu, nurtured at Kyrewood riding school, where I
taught riding as well as rode show ponies for the Gortons, and matured now in being able to fulfill my passion for all
things equestrian," notes Margo.
Clarity Group will shortly begin recruiting for new staff. "Our plan is to employ a saddlery and feed shop manager, a
suitably qualified riding instructor, and an events manager," says Margo. "With the excellent skill base and experience
that exists in the Manawatu, we foresee no problems in having these positions filled quickly."
